Does it taste or smell of liver?
You swallow the capsule whole, so you do not taste it. There is a faint smell when the jar is first opened. That is the liver being liver.
Why four capsules?
Four 600 mg capsules give 2,400 mg of liver a day, and one jar of 120 lasts thirty days. Take them with water, preferably with a meal.
Why amber glass?
Amber glass keeps light off the contents. Retinol degrades on exposure to light, so the jar is doing a job, not a look.
Is the capsule suitable for vegetarians?
No. The capsule shell is bovine gelatin and the contents are beef liver. There is no vegetarian version and there will not be one.
Can I take it with other supplements?
Not alongside another vitamin A supplement — four capsules already provide 739 µg, which is 92% NRV. If you take medication or are under medical supervision, ask a doctor first.
Where does the liver come from?
Grassland Bovine Limited, a New Zealand company registered in Springston, Selwyn — company number 9306321. It is encapsulated at a specialist facility in the United Kingdom.
Who should not take it?
It contains vitamin A as retinol. Not if you are pregnant or likely to become pregnant, except on the advice of a doctor or antenatal clinic. If breastfeeding, taking medication, or under medical supervision, consult a doctor before use.
What is a batch certificate?
The laboratory's own report on the batch your jar came from, identified by the lot code on the base. Ours are on the batch record, whole, so you do not have to take our word for it.
Why can I only buy it on Amazon?
One product, one batch. A checkout, a returns process and a delivery network would cost more than they would serve you, and the cost would land in the price.
When is the next batch?
We do not have a date. One batch has shipped, and when a second is analysed its certificates go on the batch record before the jars go on sale. The list hears first.
